The Long Trip Home

So tonight's journey home was a long one. With an injury/fatality taking place at St.Mary's, the person who suffered the accident or lost their life (I am not sure of which because it was never really confirmed by staff and the story kep changing) actually achieved what I thought was impossible - they created a massive interrupt in the lives of others. Now that is weird because when a love one has died I often think that there should be more of a fuss. That perhaps even the world should stop in some way. And here was this person who had done just that and I didn't even know them.

And what astonishes me even more is some people's reactions about the 'inconvenience'. Sure I wasn't jumping up and down and celebrating that I had heard for the fiftieth time over the loud speaker the fact that I had to catch a bus from St.Mary's station to my car. Nor did I cheer loudly when the train that was going to take us to St.Mary's stopped one station short, but I sure wasn't going to curse the poor guy/girl who had lost their life (or a limb because it was still speculation), because of my delay. I mean why waste the energy complaining about the accent over the loudspeaker when all I wanted to do was get home and safely.

So with minimal fuss and major gratitude I got home safely - better than the person who created the fuss who didn't.
