Friendly Faces

Yes, I am still committed to keeping you all up to date. Caught up with Anna and Marting from Australia on Friday night. after two nights of being out drinking, and having an offsite day which was a lot of fun on Friday , I found some renewed energy seeing their faces and talked them to death! No they didn't actually die, but they were so jet lagged that they couldn't keep their red eyes open at dinner! We got good catch up time on Sunday when I kept bugging them about catching up again. Seeing old friends was awesome and a little surreal. Good feedback from Anna is that I haven't changed which is great. And even though my sister in law says I have a bit of an accent, in the last week I have come out with some Aussie pearlers!! And given everyone in my team a taste test on Cadbury's from Australia vs. UK chocolate - endless fun. And all the girls liked that Allen's lollies say they are 99% fat free - that meant they were consumed in record time and with no conscience!!
Didn't get up to too much on the weekend, enjoyed shopping and went to one of the museums to write, bought some books and read most of Sunday as it was blustery and rainy, and who wants to go out in that. Booked tickets for Easter to fly to Scotland and hire a car. Looking forward to that and all my Scottish work colleagues are giving me tips so it is nice to get the 'inside' information. That's all the news I have at this stage - will post something more exciting soon!

That is the week that was...

I am sure that that was some theme song from a show or something like that, anyway, just a weekly update. Yes you can pick yourself up off the ground.
It is a nice sunny day here (actually a bit of rain) but blue sky!! so I'll take it as sunny. The days are getting longer - yay and everyone is a little brighter due to Spring coming soon. Recovered from missing my Spain plane, and went to the Natural History museum and saw Dinosaurs, Dodo Birds and other amazing things - a massive Blue Whale for one. Was fantastic and free - which was a great bonus.
This week has been a slower one at work - still busy but not as many deadlines. Went to an 'offsite' day near Heathrow airport (doesn't sound like an ideal location but half of the team is based in Edinburgh). It was awesome - learnt how to be like Tom cruise and throw cocktail bottles around as well as to run a wine bar. Was good to get to know the team a little better too - just before I go :(
Contract finishes in April and plan at this stage (as of today and it changes most days) is to travel and do my pilgrimage in Spain, go through Europe and then come home for a catch up. And I have decided to swicth visa's and stay a bit longer. I really love it over here, so seems to make sense at the mo'. (that's 'hood' talk - short for moment!)
After many late nights this week, this weekend has been going to another museum and tomorrow hopefully I will be going to the Tower of London which is meant to be great.
Hope you are well!!
