Och Aye
Had an awesome Easter weekend in Scotland. Unfortunately I left the disc with the pictures at work but I will definitely post some up. The scenery is amazing - went to Isle of Skye and then across to Inverness back down through Pitlochry and back to Edinburgh. Went with two of my Aussie friends and they were excellent 'roadies'. We had a ball - and chilled out and ate a lot!
It was fairly unorganised due to my lack of ability to be too organised, but we had great accomodation every night, and got into one of the most exclusive restuarants in Skye after someone cancelled the day we called - yes we loved Lady Luck.
Stayed at Fort William on the Friday night and that was an experience. Walked into a small karaoke bar, where everyone was way past their limit - and when I bought two whiskies I found out why - they were only £3! Insane! So we stayed there the rest of the night and I restrained myself to only sing one song - KT Tunstall! Wasn't the best rendition as I was genuinely afraid of the audience as they could all sing - Karoake cheats!!
On the Sunday night we hit Inverness, watched the Aussies beat England (noice) after amazingly getting one of the thousand TV's in the pub turned over to it from the football (soccer). So after a couple of drinks (yes a couple x 2) we mixed with the locals and a great Scott called Duncan recommended that we find a place to stay and it was 11pm! But once again we found a great room and on the way to the car went to Johnny Foxes, where although we were worried that we wouldn't get in, in jeans, we were welcomed and danced/ sang the night away to traditional Scottish music. At the end of another wonderful night we dragged ourselves back to Edinburgh and I got home at 12pm very tired on Monday night.
So many other adventures and quirky stories to tell but it would take me all night to write them. Needless to say LOVED Scotland, the mountains and the people.
Will post some pictures asap!
Hope all is well back home!
