Workin' 9 till 5
For some reason I continually hear song titles when I am writing my entries at the moment. And for those of you who are actually reading this - sorry for not updating you sooner that the job is back on and I started on Monday. I got a message late Friday afternoon and called the recruiter after hours on Friday and said - yep cool to start Monday no problemo. (not like that of course). Then hung up and 'yahooed' for a bit and had a great night in and watched movies on Sky - I have been so TV deprived!
Then realised i had nothing to wear for a week of work, and decided Sunday was shopping day.
Saturday was great. I got up early (that wasn't so great!) and got myself to Victoria at 7:40am and jumped on a smaller minibus thing and headed to Laycock (no jokes thanks) which is a gorgeous small village. Then off to Bath which has fantastic Georgian homes and style to the place. The Roman Baths are amazing but a bit disappointed that they can't be used. And the tour guide recommended that we don't try the water as the bus didn't do many loo stops and it cleans you right out.
Then off to Stone Henge which did take my breath away! For those who just call it a bunch of rocks - you have to be kidding. It was pouring when I got there - and I mean POURING! but then the sun came out as I decided what the hell I'm going out there. And you can sense the energy of the place and that it was the site of some amazing rituals whatever they were. I took a thousand pictures which I am having a hard time culling, and i will definitely go back there and go to other rock circles.
So got home and was happy to chill and watch TV as I had the house to myself as TOm and Will were away - yeeha! They are great guys by the way - and it will be a shame to leave this place at the end of Nov - until then i am going to love being here - did I mention the TV?
The Sunday was shop till you drop day. I was a machine - Cathy you would have been proud of me. I got all that i wanted, and under budget. It has such a wide range of clothes here and you can get them relatively cheap (Autumn sales). I just can't wait to get my first pay to be able to buy another pair of work shoes and sneakers so I can go for a run if I want. I am happy to have another casual jumper (that makes 2!). So now when I have photos I shouln't be wearing the same thing in each shot taken over a period of months.
Can't believe i have been here a month already. today was the first real homesick day, but going to work made it easier to focus on something else. The weather is a little chillier and I think it has hit me that I am heading into another winter - bugger. Oh well there are worse things in the world - there could be not TV here :)
