Christmas Spirits up
Sorry it has been so long between updates. Went to York last weekend which was great, and currently in the beautiful Scottish town of Edinburgh. About to catch the airport bus after a great weekend, and go home. SO have been busy - just unable to write about it that's all. The Christmas markets up here, and the big Ferris Wheel, Santa and his deer and everything about this place has added up to a fantastic weekend. Considering that on my last visit I was too hung over to appreciate anything, this time I made up for it. Caught the bus to Roslyn Chapel (Da Vinci Code), and it is really gorgeous. The masons did such a great job on it, and you could walk around for hours and still not see every little detail.
It was extremely cold though outside the church when I was waiting for the bus back in and I saw frost. Haven't seen snow yet, but it was really bitingly chilly yesterday and I was pleased in a way to see frost and know that it wasn't me being a wuss.
Absolutely love! Scotland and the people are great. With their accents. Could live up here for sure. Tasted my first mulled wine last night and not being a red wine drinker at first I thought that it sucked, but after a couple of sips and hey it really does warm you up. I was going to forego my deposit on the mug they have it to me in and keep it, but then I realised it had Frankfurt markets on it so thought forget that!
Also another factor was that I haad nowhere to throw the left over wine, without being noticed so it was easier just to give it back to them.
The other thing I like about Edinburgh are the views - awesome. City, mountains and coast all in one. Gotta love it (can you tell I like it here?)
What else has been happening? Not too much, settled into my new place - the guys are great. Now have a list of things I want to buy including a cheap PC, so I can write from home and do my banking from home! Also a Cd player because I am really hating not being able to play music out aloud. All these things that you never think of when you pack up your life at home. I like London but venturing around England and other areas has me wondering about what it would be like to work somewhere else after my next holidays. So may not stay in the one place - will see.
Hope everyone is well in Oz, and that the lead up to Xmas is an easy one. I have my work Xmas lunch and then Xmas party on Friday night. I have nothing to wear because I actually own no clothes. So this week will be shopping time!
Take care!
