A week of travel and work
Had a busy week with travelling to Theale (outside Reading) and to Bradford (near Leeds) for work. Always good to do site visits but very tiring. Did give me time though on the train and I love the English countryside. The trees are amazing and have such a character about them. It has also been sunny most of the week - and you get tricked into thinking it must be really warm but there is definitely a chill in the air. And exciting news - forecast is for snow on Tuesday - love it!
Went to Brighton last Sunday - amazing sitting on the beach in jeans and jacket and lying in the sun! Talk about safe sun baking! Some kids were in the water - they were the crazy ones!! Had a great day chilling by the ocean - nice to escape the manicness that is London. Today out shopping and tonight out singing (karoake) with the Aussie crew. Went to a poker place last night. Was amazing going to a gambling den. I was the only woman there and the ego's were rampant. Only lost £25, and wasn't the first to lose their money either. Learnt a lot of lessons about how toplay texas hold 'em. And I didn't have a hang over today either so as far as I'm concerned it was worth it. The trash talking was worse than the NBA, and a few times I may have let myself get a little riled and made some silly bets - but you live and learn. Not sure I would go back but it was fun. And the clicking sounds of everyone lifting and dropping their chips was laughable!
Going to have an easy Sunday - HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL THOSE THAT I KNOW!!
